Founded in 2020, Women with Purpose is a global community created to shine a light on extraordinary women who are reshaping industries, communities, and lives. By sharing their stories, Women with Purpose inspires others to spark positive change.

It All Started with Her

Akris has always been about women — women who create, lead, inspire, and dare. Women like Akris’ founder, Alice Kriemler-Schoch. In 1922, at just 26 years old, Alice saved for a year to buy a Singer sewing machine and open her first atelier — decades before women were granted the right to vote in Switzerland, and at a time when few dared to pursue independence.

Celebrating Women Who Make Their Mark

It is this vision and dedication to women like Alice that led Akris to launch the Women with Purpose initiative. Since 2020, 40 women have been named Women with Purpose. Every year, the community grows with women from diverse fields — from art, architecture, filmmaking, and dance to sport, economics, and human rights. Through this initiative, Akris aims to amplify their voices, foster meaningful connections, and create a platform to inspire others
